GIS experience: Maria Zuniga Anton
Maria Zuniga is a geographer and a doctor in geography at the university of Zaragoza.
GIS has been one of the key elements of her job especially linked to map design and thematic cartography. Nowadays, she is developing a cartographic project to address the challenges of the coronavirus outbreak.
With her team, she’s mapping data related to the pandemic and information that can be relevant to identify special patterns of propagation, incidence and vulnerability.
She is especially interested in the evolution of the disease, so she applies map design techniques to clearly see the new situation every week.
